Letters from the in-between

Welcome to Letters from the In-Between, where we embrace the messy middle. This is where we’re learning to create intentionally, nurture our bodies, and show up as our truest selves without forcing anything. We’ll dig into the importance of rest, body safety, and the little steps that lead to big change. No rush, no expectations. Just a reminder that everything blooms in its own time.

Soft Landings. Gentle Harvests.

Fall is the season of the in-between. Not quite the expansive energy of summer, not yet the stillness of winter. Just the gentle turning point where nature reminds us it’s okay to slow down, release, and prepare.

For so long, I thought I had to keep the same pace all year. I’d push through seasons where my body clearly wanted rest, or I’d feel guilty if my goals didn’t match the energy of the calendar year. But the more I pay attention to the cycles of nature, the more I realize how natural it is to ebb and flow. You’re not “behind.” You’re in rhythm.

Fall invites us to treat ourselves like the trees: let go of what no longer serves, ground into what sustains us, and trust that rest is productive, too. Here's some tips to embrace those vibes this season.

Foods to Nourish

As the air gets cooler and your body craves warmth, think cozy, grounding meals:

  • Root vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and beets to anchor your energy.
  • Squashes and pumpkins for nourishment and comfort.
  • Seasonal fruits like apples and pears to support digestion.
  • Warming spices: cinnamon, ginger, clove, nutmeg
  • Herbal teas or chai blends to bring both grounding and comfort into your day.

Herbs & Seasonal Allies

Nature provides what we need when we need it:

Gentle Practices to Embrace

Fall doesn’t ask for hustle. It asks for grounding. Try weaving in practices that remind you to come back to yourself:

  • Take a slow walk and notice the sound of leaves or surrounding animals.
  • Journal on what you’re ready to release before the year turns.
  • Flow through gentle yoga or stretching to keep energy moving but mindful.
  • Declutter your space as an energetic reset.
  • Create small cozy rituals: a candlelit evening, a warm tea, or a nourishing meal.
  • Consider warm, dim lighting as the days become shorter to encourage a healthy circadian rhythm.

The Fall Holistic Hangout

This season, I’m bringing these practices into community with the Fall Holistic Hangout in Lexington, SC. Together, we’ll move, reflect, and enjoy a seasonal plant-based meal as we honor the energy of fall and the beauty of slowing down.

Tickets are open now. If you’ve been feeling disconnected or chaotic these days, this is the perfect opportunity to recalibrate. We’ll focus on creating balance, setting intentions, and honoring the rhythms of our bodies, just like nature intended.
